Alumni and Friends of the Department of Linguistics
The Linguistic Department extends a warm welcome to all Alumni and friends of the Department.
We would like to inspire our Alumni and Friends to get involved in networking activities to re-establish old and form new friendships, to attend seminars in your areas of interest and to share with us your career developments, successes and experiences.
Alumni are encouraged to use the website find information on interesting news and research developments taking place within the Department, access Lingline , and discover details of the free seminars that you may like to attend.
So that we can facilitate networking and contact you when items and seminars of interest are available, we encourage you to keep your details up to date . The Alumni Office website provides a exclusive list of benefits for our alumni and if you register they can ensure that you receive Sirius - the alumni newsletter . Details of student awards and alumni awards are also on the site, together with information on international and national alumni networking chapters , information to assist alumni donations and the opportunity to purchase merchandise .
Alumni are invited to relevant seminars and alumni events, where you can network among colleagues and professionals with like interests. It will not take very long to register , and of course your privacy will be protected.
Events
The Department of Linguistics sponsored an alumni event last year to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Macquarie University. The evening was held on Friday 10th December and staff and students past and present met for drinks and a stimulating retrospective view of our Department from our three professors.
