Student Support

This page links you to a wide range of information we think you need to know, and to resources that will help you to make the most of your studies within the Lingusitics Department of Macquarie University:

There are a number of important policies you need to be familiar with relating to cheating and plagiarism, and the Code of Supervisory Practice for Research Students. Cheating and plagiarism is viewed very strictly within the Department and to comply with this policies can result in serious penalties.

Managing the administrative side of your degree is your responsibility and it is vital that you meet key deadlines. You can find links to the latest advice from the Department and University on how to re-enrol via the web, request a waiver, apply for honours (and much more) on the important processes page.

If you are not quite sure where to go for the information you need, have a look at the Academic and Administrative Advice page where you will find a contact list of people who will be able to assist you. The academic and administrative advisers are experienced in assisting students and will offer a friendly information and advice service. If they can't answer your question they will point you in the right direction.

There are many services and resources - both on campus and online - designed to assist students. The student resources page has details of studying and learning resources, pastoral care and support services; and further sources of information and advice.
